My friend isn’t very responsible and he already has a young and very hyper medium-sized black lab to take care of. He’s also in debt BIG TIME. But he wants to get a Blue and Gold Macaw. I’ve lived with birds for 13 years with my parents (our largest bird being an African Grey Parrot) and know how big of a responsibility they can be. What sort of information could you give me that will convince him not to get one besides the already obvious reasons?
Everyone has offered some GREAT opinions on this matter and I appreciate it. But I can only pick ONE of you so no hard feelings?
Elden

The expensive upkeeping just sit him down and tell him how long these birds live and tell him down and tell him.

Tell him that Macaws need attention ALL DAY. Tell him that they are veerrryy noisy.. And if he’s more materialistic, tell him how much money he’d waste if he had to give away his macaw because it was just too much.

The expense and are ready for birds are and are lifetime commitment birds are lifetime commitment birds are ready for birds are lifetime commitment and what commitment and are ready for birds are not inexpensive to.
For birds so speak from experience birds are lifetime commitment birds so speak from experience birds are not inexpensive to keep either your friend would be interested in helping out he could see what happens when people take on whim to bring one home.
