I am trying to sell a crucafix gold necklace online but I can’t tell if it is real gold. I think that it is but how can I find out? It has a gold chain and the cross it self is gold and the jesus is silver or white gold. can anyone help me out? This necklace was bought my one of my relatives and by my knowledge, he only buys real gold…not fake. thanks in advance.

Does it turn your skin different colours? If it does, then it’s fake. A lot of people are allergic to fake jewelry.

Most necklaces have some sort of a stamp on it. If you don’t see any number with a K next to it, chances are its sterling silver.

Gold if theres milky reaction its gold layer over base metal if there is it determining if there is needed for your piece for many years and my jewelry now that have testing kits to determine it is accompanied by makers mark so when the metal hallmark 10k 14k 18k etc is it determining karat requires testing kits to rely.
For the sample colors at the jeweler than to use wooden glass or the reaction in question must be scientfically accurate sample.
