Is there a way to repair gold leafing or gilding on a ceramic cup?

I have a black ceramic cup that has gold leafing around the rim that is worn in spots….is there any way to repair this that won’t look like cr**?

  1. Not really. The cup has already been fired and the glaze is sealed. You could try to paint it or re-leaf it but it will show, and eventually come off.
