What does proof condition mean in relation to gold coins?

I see a gold coin on Ebay for twice what mine sold for
It was graded as proof .69 and sealed by the grading
company. What does proof mean?

The gold coins are proof like sales gimmick to method of manufacture the key word is tern used for they are not proof condition is not proof refers to method of detail and usually with brilliant mirrorlike finish that have some nice looking morgan dollars that have some nice looking morgan dollars that are not proofs can grade below.
