Where can I try panning for placer gold in southern Michigan in the east side of the state near Detroit?

I have never panned for gold before and I would like to at least start where there might be some. I live just north of Detroit, I have read that their is palcer gold in Michigan. I could use some tips… I am also willing to try areas not too far into Ohio.

Why is it said that buried gold gives off a bluish flame at night?

My father used to tell me stories about buried treasures and precolumbian gold. Supossedly, the buried gold would produce a blue flame that could be seen at night, and the country people and farmers would go out at night tracing this flames in order to find the treasure. Is this scientifically possible?

How would you concentrate gold and where is it found?

Ok, I’m a Geology 101 student and this question was placed on our study guide. I know gold would most likely be found at convergent boundaries but how would you concentrate it? Please, explain as simple as possible
