How can you check if something is really gold and not fake?

I found a bracelet in my room that has “24k gold” engraved on it. I just wanna check if it is really gold or a fake.

What’s a good Halloween costume to make out of Gold short shorts and a gold bikini top?

I found some cool stuff at the American Apparel store that seems like it would be good for Halloween. There are these gold booty shorts and a bikini top all sequined gold. I couldn’t really think of a costume I could make out of it. Anyone have any advice?

Does anyone know where I can get a sterling silver pendant gold plated?

I brought a small sterling silver heart pendant with pave CZ’s embedded in it, and I’d love to find someone or something to plate it in yellow gold. Is there anyone in Philadelphia or Pennsylvania that does gold plating of this kind? And if not is there anyway I could gold plate it myself for not too much money?

How do I remove Gold Embossed printing from a book cover?

I have four church register books that keep legal records of Marriages, etc. that contain the former name of our church. I had the name Gold Embossed on them and now would like to remove it to have it re-done. I’ve considered covering them with permanant inventory labels but removing them would be much neater. Any suggestions? I do not want any damage to the books.

How can I dip in gold a natural dissect leaf for jewelry?

I saw “dissect” natural leafs for greetings cards and in some occasion for jewelry, I want to know the technique(s) to do dipping in gold and/or silver; I know that electrolysis works only on metal, It does works in organic compounds?
