My sister and I were wondering why the gold flakes do not come back up when you drink excessive amounts of Goldschlager? Where do they go? And they don’t seem to produce themselves even if you don’t drink to much of it?

What is the gold/bronze-colored stuff on top of plants in plug sheets?
I work in a greenhouse and have always wondered about that. It looks like little gold flakes.
